Videos FAQ

Questions about the videos

Do the videos require any philosophy background?

No. Beginner videos define every term as it comes up. Each video is labelled Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced so you know what to expect. If a word is unfamiliar, the Glossary has one-sentence definitions for every term used in the videos.

Are transcripts available?

Yes. Every video has a full timestamped transcript accessible from the chapter panel. Transcripts are also useful as study notes — they let you search for a specific argument or quote without re-watching the whole video.

What is the "Read with us" series?

Read with us takes a short primary text — such as Epictetus's Enchiridion or Descartes's Meditations — and reads it passage by passage on screen, pausing to explain the argument. The originals are freely available on Project Gutenberg ↗. The series is aimed at readers who want to engage with the source but find it hard to navigate alone.

How do I suggest a video topic?

Use the contact form. Tell us the question you want answered and which format you think it fits — a ten-minute overview, a thought experiment or a primary text read-through. Reader suggestions have shaped every series so far.
